WB Alloys has launched its first U.S. production facility in Danville, Virginia, with a $6.6 million investment to support wire-alloy manufacturing aimed at the Navy and Department of Defense. The initial 10,000-square-foot facility is the beginning, with plans to expand to 50,000 square feet as production scales . The company also brings its expertise in high-performance alloy wire for welding, 3D metal printing components, closed-loop weld-monitoring systems, and WAAM/DED additive manufacturing equipment to the region.

This expansion adds 30 new jobs to Danville, with employee salaries ranging between $50,000 and $70,000. The Danville facility complements WB Alloys’ customer network—especially FasTech, a local 3D printing provider—boosting local supply chains and reducing lead times for welding materials.

The project benefited from support by local and state partners, including the Virginia Economic Development Partnership and Danville-Pittsylvania County authorities. Incentives included an $80,000 Commonwealth Opportunity Fund grant and job development credits. Positioned within an advanced manufacturing ecosystem—including defense-focused training programs—this move signals a meaningful step in strengthening domestic welding and additive manufacturing capabilities.
