VSE Adds Turbine Weld, Expands Welding & Engine MRO Reach
VSE Corporation has purchased Florida‑based Turbine Weld Industries, a 60‑person specialist in hot‑section components welding repairs for Pratt & Whitney Canada engines. Since 1986, Turbine Weld has logged more than 80 000 component overhauls on workhorses like the PT6, PW100 and JT15D, earning OEM‑approved, proprietary repair specs for many flight‑critical parts.
By folding Turbine Weld into its aviation division, VSE gains deeper welding know‑how and sole‑source repair rights on two of the busiest engine families in business and general aviation. The deal tightens alignment with OEM partners, widens VSE’s repair portfolio and promises quicker turn‑rounds for operators who need hot‑section work without shipping components overseas.
VSE says fresh capital will expand Turbine Weld’s Venice, FL facility to meet rising demand—welcome news for welders and machinists looking to apply high‑temperature alloy skills in a fast‑growing MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) niche.
