A full afternoon of live welding demonstrations, technical talks, and student-led innovation is on the agenda at Cranfield University. Hosted by Fronius International and co-organized with the Welding and Joining Processes Technical Group (TG2) and The Welding Institute London Branch, the event brings together leading industry professionals and aspiring engineers for a focused look at where welding technology and education are heading.

Scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM following registration, the day will feature sessions on advances in TIG and MIG welding, weld monitoring systems, and educational approaches in welding training. Speakers include representatives from Fronius, TVC Ltd., and Cranfield University. Live demonstrations will complement the talks, offering practical insights into emerging tools and methods.

The event will wrap up with a student lecture competition, where MSc candidates will present projects on topics such as duplex laser welding and flux-cored wire applications. These students—many already holding international welding certifications—will be judged by a panel, with the winning team receiving recognition from The Welding Institute’s London Branch President.
