Fortis Series Brings Smarter MIG/MAG Welding Solutions

Fronius has introduced the Fortis series, a new line of manual MIG/MAG welding machines designed with small and medium-sized companies in mind. Covering a power range of 270 to 500 amps, the lineup includes compact all-in-one units and split versions with external wire feeders. A notable addition is the Fortis Duo, which holds two wire spools and torches in one device—practical for workshops that frequently switch materials or processes. For broader voltage needs, the Fortis XT version supports global mains compatibility and promises energy savings of up to 16%.
The series is built to handle steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, with more than 240 optimized characteristics available. Combined with pulse functionality, it can manage demanding work such as vertical-up welds or thin sheet joints. Multiprocess capability across MIG/MAG, TIG, and MMA makes Fortis suitable for a range of applications, from structural steel to light fabrication.
Fronius has also emphasized usability and digital integration. A 7-inch color display with multilingual support and a welding parameter wizard helps reduce setup errors, making the machines accessible even for less experienced operators. Standard WiFi and Bluetooth ensure compatibility with WeldCube solutions for documentation and user management, while the design itself incorporates sustainability by using 53% recycled aluminum in its housing. With durability and easy maintenance in focus, Fortis looks positioned for long-term use in challenging shop environments.
