The American Welding Society (AWS) and the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology have introduced a co-branded international welding and metalworking training curriculum. Designed for accredited institutions outside North America, the program is delivered through BSB EDGE and combines AWS’s strength in industry standards and welder qualification with Hobart’s long history in welding education.

The curriculum offers a structured foundation covering key areas—from terminology, blueprint reading, safety, and metallurgy to welding symbols and shop mathematics—alongside practical instruction in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and oxyfuel techniques. It also includes applications in structural welding, pipe fitting, and general fabrication. Resources include classroom-ready videos, workbooks, technical guides, and supplemental materials, all built to rigorous industry standards.

By melding AWS’s global reach with Hobart’s educational expertise, this initiative strengthens welding education worldwide. For educators and students seeking a syllabus aligned with recognized standards, the curriculum offers both credibility and clarity.
